- Mosquito Control - Mosquitoes are more than just a nuisance; they can pose a serious health risk. These pests are known to transmit diseases like Zika Virus, Malaria, Yellow Fever, and the West Nile Virus. Their bites can cause irritation and swelling, and in some cases, trigger allergic reactions. Depending on temperature a mosquito can complete its life cycle in as little as 10-14 days creating a steady population of these annoying pests. If you’re concerned about mosquitoes on your property, Shades of Green is here to help.

Mosquito & Tick FAQ
Will your Mosquito Control spray hurt my family or pets?
No. We only use natural and organic products that are safe around humans and pets.
How do you help eliminate the ticks in my yard?
We are able to reduce and eliminate the ticks in your yard by doing the following:
- Remove and maintain overgrown areas which are prime tick habitats.
- Targeted insecticide treatments to control ticks, that way you, your family, and pets can enjoy your yard.
- Deer & Mouse repellent. It may sound strange, but deer mice are primary carriers of ticks. So it only makes sense to implement this as a preventative measure to help eliminate these disease carrying bloodsuckers.
Do you offer a natural solution to controlling ticks?
Yes, we offer a 100% organic option for tick control.
When does the Shades of Green Mosquito Control Program begin treatment?
We begin treating your property in April and continue through October.
How often do you need treatment?
You will want your property sprayed every 21 to 30 days during the peak season. However, other variables, such as living near the woods or bodies of water, may require additional treatments.
Is there a natural way to repel mosquitoes?
Yes, there are plenty of natural ways to repel mosquitoes – one being lemon eucalyptus oil. The CDC has even approved eucalyptus oil as an effective ingredient in mosquito repellent. Citronella is another common and natural way to repel mosquitoes. It is an effective essential oil made from a mix of herbs. Citronella candles are a way to repel mosquitoes and provide up to 50% extra protection against them outdoors. Additionally, the highly effective spray that we utilize is 100% natural.
How long do you have to wait to go outside after spraying?
Typically around 30 minutes, but we recommend waiting until the spray has dried.
